What happens when it’s time to move in?
Please note: with the ever changing nature of the current circumstances surrounding Covid-19 these details may be slightly different for 20/21 tenancy move ins. All tenants will be contacted prior to the start of the tenancy start date with details. ID will still be required.
Close to your tenancy start date the lettings team will contact you with all of the details you will need about booking a key collection appointment. You must book an appointment with us. Your house will have been decorated and professionally cleaned ready for the first day of your tenancy.
You must provide the member of staff who is carrying out your move-in appointment an original form of identification on the day. Details of what is acceptable can be found here. This is legally required and without it we cannot handover your keys.
On move in day we will meet the first tenant/s at the property and show them any important features of your house such as your stop-cock, gas shut off point, fuse board and meters. We will also test your fire alarm and Co2 detector if applicable. When we have handed over your keys we will head back to the office and email you with a link to your inventory, welcome pack and certificates. It’s really important you read through both of these documents carefully.
Anyone who is not present at the initial move in appointment will also receive the documents via email but will be able to book to collect keys from the office at a later date.
