Lincoln Digs Ltd is a university approved Letting Agent carrying out general maintenance on a portfolio of 125 properties across the City of Lincoln. Our maintenance team are looking for a General Maintenance and property compliance operative to work around the City of Lincoln. This varied and interesting role would also include providing out of hours assistance on a week on week off basis.
Job information
- Monday to Friday
- Between the hours of 9:00am– 5pm / 37.5 hours a week
- Out of Hours assistance on a week on week off basis Friday to Friday between the hours of 5.00pm – 9:00am
- £26,000 – Basic Salary plus hourly rate for jobs attended to out of hours
- Driving licence is essential
- 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays

About the role
The varied role which will be partially office based and partially out in the field in our rented properties will be an integral part of the organisation. You will be responsible for ensuring the properties are maintained to the highest standard and all legislation appropriate to the properties are adhered to.
The below is a non-exhaustive list of duties to carry out the role:
Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks to our rented portfolio.
Investigate and troubleshoot issues reported by the office.
Assemble and install furniture, varied fixtures, equipment and appliances.
Conduct routine maintenance inspections to ensure our properties are kept to a high standard.
Collaborate with other members of our team and sub-contractors to complete larger, more complex tasks or projects.
Carry out general small gardening works to ensure the properties are well presented.
Testing and logging of fire and CO2 alarms on a weekly/ monthly basis
Updating our property Fire risk assessments
Corresponding to tenant maintenance requests
Book in works to our diary system
Update our tenants of larger / longer works
Arranging visits from subcontractors to carry out certificate renewals.
About you
A driving licence is required to ensure you are able to maintain Lincoln Digs Ltd portfolio of properties across the City of Lincoln.
You need to be confident in your abilities to carry out general maintenance jobs and be able to draw upon your experience to complete the jobs assigned to you.
As you will be responsible for the administration of some of your own work, you will also need to be computer literate, although training on our own software will be given.
Being the face of our organisation, you must have excellent people skills, be polite, well presented and organised and go the extra mile to get the job done well, first time around.
Dealing face to face with customers and tenants can sometimes appear challenging, therefore a calm and professional manner is required at all times.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience of practical/manual work
- Possess the basic principles of management of a portfolio of properties
- Understand the importance of Fire Safety (although training will be given for the role)
- Confidently manage small project works
- Troubleshoot and deal with out of hours maintenance works
- Be positive, proactive and have the ability to work as a team member
